When we talk about sexuality and aging, LGBTQ elders have additional concerns regarding their gender and sexual minority status. For many of these elders, arriving at a senior living community can evoke fears and concerns about “coming out” that they hadn’t dealt with in years. This program will offer the voices of LGBTQ elders expressing their fears, hopes, and desires in a unique environment of inclusion.


At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

1. Discuss health disparities for LGBTQ elders,

2. Define discrimination against LGBTQ elders, and

3. Apply one (1) aspect of this program to create a more inclusive clinical or educational



This program meets the requirements of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) and is approved for 3 CE credits and is considered synchronous learning if in attendance to the live webinar. Participants will be expected to complete a post webinar assignment as part of the completion of the 3 AASECT CE's. These CE credits may be applied toward AASECT certification and renewal of certification through the Sexuality Training Institute.
